Youth Ocean Carnival

regional workshop

Held the third Youth Ocean Carnival regional workshop @ Charles Sturt University Port Macquarie on Monday, 11 March. The workshops are to elevate youth led leadership in ocean and nature conservation by providing youth with the tool-kit to be change-makers in their worlds. 120 regional environmental students were in attendance.

Key takeaway Embrace curiosity in the unknown - as youth you don’t need to know everything to start; you can learn along the way. Regardless of age, gender or job, everyone has the power to make a difference. Besides being a speaker I was on a dynamic panel of speakers responding to questions about Plastic Pollution.

The Mayor of Port Macquarie-Hastings Council, Peta Pinson was in attendance. The school host was The Nature School in Port Macquarie and joining us was the Heritage College from Lake Macquarie.
