Happy New Year

A new year full of renewed activism to help the natural planet.

So proud to advise that I participated in the inaugural launch of World Ocean Day Down Under launched in Brisbane Queensland @ Nudgee Beach on Wednesday 24 January. The World Ocean Down Under is a call to action for ocean,wetlands and rivers.

From January to March 2024 the program (#seathechange) will be empowering volunteers throughout Australia to:

  • Help remove rubbish from the environment

  • Continue to work with CSIRO to expand their National Plastic Pollution Baseline Survey across the country

  • Improve biodiversity, climate resilience, blue carbon storage potential and habitat for our hero species on 14 wetlands in 6 capital cities and 3 regional centres

  • Work alongside and support 80 community “care” and First Nations groups to catalyze action for ocean, wetlands and rivers.

NSW EPA Survey

Below is the link to the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) survey to be completed before 4 February 2024. It takes around 6 minutes to complete. The survey allows you to provide feedback and focus on three areas:

1. Reducing plastic litter

2. Action on harmful chemicals and microplastics and

3. Keeping pace on plastic action
